Reproductive Health:
Awareness general health issue:
1. They shares their problems related to health especially gynecological and they takes it serious for treatment both men and women.
2. About 30% male group of the working area are sensitized regarding gender issue.
3. The women and men are giving the importance of trained dais for conducting deliveries; they do not take any risk from un trained dais.
4. More then 70% pregnant women get iron tables and vaccination and regular checking from the trained dais, ANM.(before and after delivery)
5. They follow up the instructions, which were given, by the trained dais or ANM.
6. About 40% people of the area are well about the herbal medicines and its uses.
7. The trend of abortion at local level reduced which was very risky and now about 90% candidates go in Government and private hospitals.
Dais
1. 107 dais are working in 60 villages and getting dai kits iron tables.
2. 42 dais identified by the government and 15 dais are getting government stipend regularly.
3. These dais are having regular contacts with the plangent women and providing their service in the 60 villages.
4. Dais are attending the monthly meetings of SHGs and providing the information on health awareness.
5. Blind beliefs such as what to eat and what to not eat as pregnant women are reduce.
6. The people of the area are well aware about the cleanly less during the delivery
Arogya sakhi
1. 60 Arogy sakhis are working at present.
2. Providing the herbal medicines to the gynecological patients in 60 villages.
3. Arogya sakhi creates the environment for having discussion on gynecological problems and share with the women. And about 60% women share the problem and take the herbal medicines with these arogya sakhi.
4. Arogy sakhi conducting the health clinic at village level and providing the health service (including general diseases and health education) to the rural women.
5. They refer the patient at the government hospital for further treatment if patient having serious disease.
Local healers
1. 61 local healers are providing their service in 60 villages.
2. 10 local herbs are using by the local healers for various disease.
3. Creating awareness regarding the herbs and herbal medicines among the community.
4. About 50% people of the area understand the importance of local herbs and herbal medicines.
5. At present about 20 % people of the area are using the knowledge of local healers or medicines.
Village level volunteers:
1. At present 108-trained village volunteers are providing their service in 60 villages.(primary treatment)
2. They create awareness among the community regarding various disease, causes and curative and preventive.
3. The village volunteers help to make linkages with the government schemes such as polio camp, school health check up, TB dots etc. in their respective villages.
Newly married couple:
1. About 60 couples in every year have been involved in the program.
2. Increased gender sensitization among the male
3. Share their sexual related problems.
4. Increased awareness among the male for using the contraceptive.
Program with school going girls:
1. About 10 high school cover under the program for raising awareness among the adolescent girls on sexual education in every year and about 2000 girls covering in every year.
2. The girls share their sexual problems and getting proper treatment.
3. Raising awareness on gender sensitizing.
4. Build the self confident among the girls.
5. The learn how to take care of themselves.
6. Reduces the blind beliefs regarding menstruation period.
7. Increased the motivation for further education.
Program with non-school going girls:
1. About 150 groups of non-school going girls in 60 villages have been cover in the program. (about 3000 girls)
1. The girls share their sexual problems and getting proper treatment.
2. Raising awareness on gender sensitizing.
3. Build the self confident among the girls.
4. The learn how to take care of themselves.
5. Reduces the blind beliefs regarding menstruation period.
2. Under the income generation activities, we provided the training on Agarbati, candle and chock ma`king, tailoring etc.
3. These groups have been linked with the government schemes such as Rastriya poshan mission yojana, iron tables etc.
Legal awareness:
1. About 35% women of the working area are having awareness on legal rights and using the legal aid center for getting advise.
2. Due to lok adalats at village level, many cases solved at village level.
3. Local leaders/Panch have been sensitized for gender aspect.
Para legal worker:
1. At present 60 para legal worker are providing their service in the 60 villages.
2. The para legal workers attending the SHGs meetings regularly and having discussion on legal rights.
3. They help to victim to provide legal advise and goes with them up to police station and legal aid center.
4. Women are having discussion on their problems related to husband, in-laws etc in the group meeting so due to this in few cases it has been reduce the problems.
Panchayati Raj (Active participation in local Governance)
1. Increased awareness on Panchayati Raj act among the members.
2. Understand their role and responsibility as well as Sarpanch and Talati.
3. Attended the meetings and Gram Sabhas
4. Women are becoming more active and raising various issues related to women in the Gram Sabhas
5. SHGs are more aware about the Panchayati Raj and its role in development.
Building organizations & capacity of marginalized groups(Women Self Help Group)
- At present 417SHGs are functioning in 200 village and the total member are 5763
- The total saving is Rs Rs. 5166816/- and Rs. 41, 04800/- has been given as a loan from their internal saving and Rs 35lacs has been given by other financial institution.
- Various Leadership and management training/workshops/ seminars and exposure visits has been organized which helps the groups to strengthen themselves as well linked with the other government schemes and health department for improve the women health.
- About 85 SHGs have taken the skill based training (agarbati, paltry, chock, candle, patchwork, Animal husbandry, improved cook stove, repairing of handpump and various shops such as eggs, merchants, vegetable gardening, tailoring, floor meal, cycle shop etc. which make them economic empowered for improve their health.
- The each SHGs are organizing the monthly meeting to have the discussion on their savings and credits, women health, active participation in Panchahyati raj and legal aid.
- Each village is having a general body of all the SHGs within the village.
Formation of Women Federation
- 6-field center level federation has been formed. And the regular meeting is going on. The members have finalized the bylaws.
- The district level federation is also formed and 18 members are regularly organized the meetings and covering the various issues related to health and gender. They also discussion on how to strengthen the SHGs.
- All the members of field center federation and district level federation have been get the exposures visits and various training on leadership and management, cluster management training and capacity building training. Due to this, the groups works effectively and managing by themselves. They also take the issues for gender related and how to implement from their own home. They also taking interest in all aspect of development. Visiting the government offices. (grass dept, water, electricity, handpump repairing, monitoring of nurse and doctor, talati and sarpanches work etc)
Health Program with Male:
Local Panch/Panchayat members:
- The local leaders and Panchayat members sensitize on gender issue through various workshops/awareness camps in 60 villages.
- The local Panch had included women members in the Panch Body (local cast justice body.)
- In Panchayat meetings the women and men discussing on the women health issues.
Adolescent Boys:
- Every year we have been given the sex education and gender sensitization to the local youth. About 4000 youth participated the program.(school going and Non-school going)
- They are helping to their mother and sister in house hold work due to gender sensitization.
- Reduced the harassment on girls.
- The youth feels that the sex education is a important subject and it should reached up to each and every youth.
- We informed about the contraceptive method and its necessity. Now they take it very serious and well aware about the use and result.
- They asked many questions related to sex education and get proper answer, so now they are discussing these questions with other people, which help to aware more people.
Program with adults:
- About 5000 adults included in the program and had discussion through meetings and workshops on sex education, gender, family planning, contraceptive, sexual disease, body knowledge etc. which help to improve the women reproductive health as well as general health. Still they are sharing and having discussion on above topics with other adults.
- About 50% men could under stand the women situation in the society and they started to help the women for reduce their workload.
- They take serious and sensitized on the sexual disease of women.
About 40% men are using condoms. And before intervene the program nobody
were using the condom. About 5% men are using regularly because they think
condom is useful for control the sexual transmitted disease.
